RoLanka is an environmentally concerned company that supplies high quality, economical and environmentally friendly products for sedimentation control, soil bioengineering, erosion control, wetland restoration, turf reinforcement and horticultural applications. The natural by-product, coir (coconut fiber) is the basis for most RoLanka products.

Our research and
development personnel are constantly working on developing new products
and on improving our current product line. Currently, there are several new products at patent pending status in the USA and in other countries. Although we offer some traditional coir products, our main emphasis is on providing technically advanced coir products for civil engineering and horticultural communities. By doing this we also assist the coir industry in developing countries. Our products are reasonably priced with a view to enhance environmentally friendly restoration activities. Lanka holds a M.S. degree in
Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. He has over 26 years of
experience in construction, design and research in the Civil Engineering
field. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Georgia.
He worked for Georgia DOT Materials and Research office for 15 years. His
interests include the application of soil bioengineering techniques to
solve civil engineering problems. He is also interested in the research
and development of new and improved erosion & sediment control and soil
bioengineering products. Lanka has a number of publications in the field of
erosion control and transportation. He has a number of patents in the US and
Sri Lanka. He is a member of International Erosion Control Association (IECA)
and ASTM (D18 & D35 committees) which are responsible for developing
standards for erosion control and geo-synthetic products. Lanka is
an editorial board member of Land and Water magazine. |

Calista holds a Ph.D. degree in Wildlife and
Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University, College Station,
Texas. Her M.Sc. degree in Aquaculture is from Asian Institute of
Technology, Bangkok, Thailand and B.S. degree in Agriculture is from
University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.. Her
interests include the environmental protection through effective erosion
and sediment control practices. |
